Asian Efficiency Visits The Omni Group

Asian Efficiency at The Omni Group

We had the pleasure of visiting The Omni Group a couple of weeks ago. We were originally in Portland for World Domination Summit (it’s not what it sounds like), but right after the conference we rented a car, drove 3 hours up north and arrived at The Omni Group’s headquarters.

If you’ve been with us for a while, you already know that we love a lot of the productivity software they create (OmniFocus, OmniGraffle, OmniOutliner just to name a couple). So we were really excited to visit their office in Seattle and see their work-environment, the wonderful people who work there, company culture, and how they create software.

The first thing we noticed when we arrived: their amazing office. It’s located by the lake, well-lit, modern and they have their own chefs on hand to cook for all team members. It’s pretty awesome.

They have a theatre inside their office. It's pretty awesome. This where also all employees watch the livestream of Apple events.

Now you might be wondering “where are they with OmniFocus 2?” We had discussions about it with them on how they can improve it, and they gave us some insights on what’s going to happen but we can’t share it publicly on the blog (I wish we could!). All I can say is that it’s going to be REALLY good ;-)

Overall, it was a lot of fun to visit the Omni Group and see all the amazing things they do and have in store for us.

p.s. we also had a couple of hours to check out Seattle.

I wish I knew you guys would be at the summit here in Portland! I live here and have been a reader of your’s for a while now. It would have been great to shake your hands and get a picture! Email me the next time you’re in PDX :)

Holy crap! I’ve only ever used Omni Focus but based on my experience with that I assumed it was just some dude in his basement. That’s amazing. Way to go OMNI. Killer office!

Their office is truly amazing. These pics don’t do justice. Worth a visit to see it in person!

Could you please ask them to display on iPad the Forecast the same way it is displayed on iPhone : with a clear and direct display of calendar events !
Maybe I’m missing something, but I really don’t understand why they hide the calendar events on iPad…
