Good app but needs some usability improvements

I've used this app for almost 6 months now and overall it does a good job. There are some usability improvements that can be made. The biggest issue, from my perspective, is that once snippets are created in a given group, the order of the snippets is locked and there is no way to re-order the snippets. The same holds true for groups.

I mainly use this app to store things like often used usernames and passwords as snippets and then copy them to the browser edit field when logging in. In doing so, having often used snippets at the bottom of the list simply because they were added last as a snippet is very inconvenient.

I evaluated/tried other competing apps from the App Store, all free though, and inspite of this usability issue, this one is the easiest to actually setup and use. So, from that perspective, not much else out there, that is free, that is better than this one.

One odd problem...

Generally this is a pretty good ap, which I find useful and keep running all the time. I did run into one odd problem which has led me to switch off the “launch on startup” option.

I use the CAD drafting program Vectorworks. I was working with a file that I wanted to insert large parts of into another file, so I did a cut/paste operation. About 30 seconds later my Mac with 16Gb of RAM tells me that there’s no memory left. Shut down, restart, try again, same thing. Shut down, restart, try again with Activity Monitor running, turns out the program eating up my system memory is Clipboard Guru. Restart, shut off CG, problem solved.

I’ll keep using CG, but as I said above, I’ve quit launching it on startup; I’ll just fire it up when I’m doing something where I need it specifically.

Mediocre Ripoff - Doesn’t Paste

After hoping to find a more modern version of the open source ClipMenu on the internet, I downloaded this. The developer has either twisted words or poorly implemented the product. When an item is selected it “pastes” it to the clipboard - not actually ever pasting it in your document and always requiring an extra click.

Also, @naotakaM, creator of the original ClipMenu, has officially said that this is a blatant ripoff.
