Try to write your own mission statement. Whether it’s for work specifically or your own personal life, put it in print. Set your standards and make a note of them in order of priority. This will help you to see the big picture and overall goals, and will remind you what you need to do when life gets stressful and time seems to slip away from you.

Short-term goals push the urgent and have their purpose, but make it a point to have a longer plan for your life.
